This beer had the best body of any IPA I've had recently. I suspect it was due in part to a freshly tapped keg at the Flying saucer on brewery night but I won't complain. My only complaint is that the signiature glass is a standard pint glass. Oh well.
The head was malty and thick and left gobules of residue on the glass. The taste was quite hoppy and bitter for 6.5% abv and there was a strong scent and lingering taste of grapefruit. This may replace torpedo as my go-to beer.

I'm going to miss this beer wen it goes out of season. Very balanced ESB with a thick and cloudy texture that left a ring in the glass after every sip, Smelled of piny hops, a hint of caramel, and some roast. Hoppy bitterness with some spice and little or no sweetness. Great with spicy food.
Great double IPA to drink casually at a reasonable price. Purchased as part of a pick 6 from Beertopia in Omaha, NE and I'll be taking a 6 pack back to Dallas. Bitter and sweet with a light hop taste lingering on the tongue. Most well balanced beer I've had in a while. Good carbonation and lacing from the bottle despite being shipped across half the country.
Moylan's bottles are complicated in a good way, with all sorts of designs and pictures covering the bomber. The bottle was poured into a standard pint glass and created about a finger worth of relatively thin head which dissolved quickly but laced very well. The color was a medium gold/orange and it was cloudy enough as to not be transparent.
The beer smelled very sweet from the bottle and on the pour I could discern a strong smell of piney hops along with some sweet fruity characteristics. Upon tasting the bitterness of the hops took over and it was difficult to discern the other flavors. The great bitter taste stuck on my tongue for a good 10 seconds after each drink - which made it hard to drink fast, but the alcohol was hidden very well.

We started off drinking this beer too cold around 35f but it warmed up as we progressed to expose more flavors. Smelled of roasted malts with some sweet fruits. Black color with foamy purple head (grapes?). Awesome taste of coffee and chocolate with a dry finish. Bitter for a stout but doesn't overtake the dark fruit sweetness. Alcohol became more apparent as it warmed but was never unpleasant. This beer makes me want to try more imperial stouts and dwarfs the complexity of my favorite double IPA's.
101 IBU's and 9 point something ABV made this beer taste exactly as advertised. There aren't many supporting flavors or fruits in this beer so its not a good candidate for a drinking session. I started my night with a pint and was satisfied but not longing for more. Exceptional lacing poured from a Nebraska Brewing Company guest tap into a tulip glass. Strong and nearly overbearing flavor with a light body and no alcohol/ethanol taste.
Poured into a snifter from a 22oz bomber. The bottle says 8% ABV and 102 IBU's so I'm expecting a hoppy beer but not too strong for an IPA. There was a finger of foamy white head that dissipated quickly but stuck to the side of the glass. The color is light orange/amber and cloudy, not very transparent. It smells bitter but a sweet smell overtakes some of the hops.
The taste is bitter but not as much as I expected from the 102 IBU advertised on the bottle. The sweet fruity taste combines with the malt and hops to make a smooth tasting beer with a medium hop aftertaste. Very drinkable for an IPA and not nearly as overbearing as the name and bottle would have you think. The texture is medium bodied, smooth, and carbonated. As I drank deeper into the snifter the bitterness seemed to increase - now its starting to live up to the name! Well worth the $4.49 price tag.

First and foremost I bought this beer because I got a kick out of the pictures and text on the bottle. Horns on a beer, how can I pass that up? On the pour it created 2+ fingers of fluffy and foamy off-white head. It dissipated at an average speed via large air bubbles and there was slight lacing. The color was dark brown and amber while the smell was piney but not overbearing with supporting ginger and burnt caramel scents.
The beer's texture was thick and grainy and it tasted bitter and piney/resiney, but the bitter taste was quickly overtaken by more complex sweet flavors like grape, orange, and ginger, with an alcohol aftertaste. Each drink had a distinct order of flavors from Pine -> Hoppy bitterness -> Sweetness -> Alcohol. The drinkability of this beer is decent for a strong ale but I would have a hard time getting through it quickly.

After pouring into a pint glass this beer created about 2 fingers of thick, foamy head which stuck around for a while. It was brownish gold in color, hazy and barely transparent. The head laced very well and didn't seem to move along the sides of the glass at all.
The DunganA was hoppy but sweet for an IPA with a very strong citrus and pine smell. The texture was malty and strong - biting the tongue and sticking. The alcohol flavor was not well hidden behind the citrus flavors and could have used bolder supporting ingredients.

Not a bad IPA but its not notable. Tastes more of pine than citrus despite smelling very sweet and it has medium body.
If anything, this beer shows me how spoiled I am to live in Dallas within range of 6 good beer bars. This beer would have blown me away in omaha.

Thick and foamy white head dissipating quickly with little lacing. Hazy golden color with slight transparency. Light bodied and sweet with a fair amount of piney hops. Strong lemon bitter taste and smell with a crisp and dry body.
Decent Light Bodied lager. Very light in color with small crisp head. Smells like martini olives.
Poured aggressively into a pilsner glass and created a nice ploom of fluffy off-white head that stuck around for a while. The head eventually gave way as small bubbles clung to the side of the glass and the top of the beer. The color is an amber with a slight hint of gold. This beer smells of floral hops and sweetness with the bottle advertising 9.2% ABV and 100 IBUs.
The texture is crisp, malty, and carbonated. The carbonation slows the hops from biting the tongue immediately but they are strong when they get there. Very hoppy at first followed by the bitterness of the alcohol. There are hints other sweet and grainy flavors that I have a hard time discerning. Maybe some brown sugar and assorted fruits. Overall this beer is balanced but very bold. This is my first barley wine and I'm having a hard time discerning it from an IPA.

Poured into a regular pint glass. On the pour there was a finger of light, fluffy head which dissipated quickly with little lacing. The color was brown with a hint of caramel/red.
On texture this beer was awfully light bodied and the smell is not overbearing or hoppy in general. It smelled of malts. Overall Samuel Smith's Pale Ale tasted good and was easy to drink, but it wasn't quite what I was expecting (more hops).

I feel guilty rating this beer because it came out of the tap flat. Too sweet with no carbonation at the Nebraska Brewing Company as a guest tap. It had little to no bitterness but complex sweet flavors reminded my of Chimay red. I will give it another shot if I ever see it again.
I picked up a six pack of Harpoon's unfiltered wheat offering from the local beer cave as a casual drinker for the Thanksgiving weekend. The bottles were poured into standard pint glasses without a garnish. On the pour it created about a finger of white, foamy head which was slow to dissipate but left very little lacing. The beer gave off a weak citrus scent and not much else. The color was a very hazy yellow/gold blend which was not transparent.
The texture was smooth and airy and left a carbonation feeling on the tongue. It tasted very light and offered little flavor aside from lemon/citrus. I wasn't a big fan of this beer - preferring darker unfiltered wheat offerings like that from Boulevard.
